About Us
Merthyr and the Valleys Mind provide a range of quality services to individuals who experience mental or emotional distress throughout the local authority areas of Merthyr Tydfil and Rhondda Cynon Taf. These services include Resource Centres that provide drop-in facilities, counselling, gardening, relaxation and music groups; Community Advocacy and Hospital Advocacy Projects.

Our aims are:
- To provide a range of services to adults with experience of mental or emotional distress
- To provide opportunities for these people to directly participate in the development and delivery of the services we provide
- To assist in developing good practice in mental health services
- To support and empower people with experience of mental health issues
- To raise public awareness of mental health issues
- To help de-stigmatise through encouraging everyday activities that support equal citizenship for people with mental health difficulties
